Hollo GURUs, I'm sorry that I cannot but write this message in English because now I do not have a korean language input emulator in my home computer. I have a qestion about '/var/log/messages' in my linux box. I took out some strange parts of /var/log/messages Is Any thing suspicious or wrong in these 2 lines? --------------------------------------------------------------------- ... Aug 25 22:01:16 MYHOSTNAME portmap[971]: connect from 129.2.133.18 to callit(390109 ): request from unauthorized host Aug 25 22:01:19 MYHOSTNAME portmap[972]: connect from 129.2.133.18 to callit(390109 ): request from unauthorized host ... --------------------------------------------------------------------- 129.2.133.18 is not under my control in school and i do not know this ip. The message also says "FROM UNAUTHORIZED HOST" Just a moment ago I just installed 'ftp://updates.redhat.com/6.2/i386/nfs-utils-0.1.9.1-1.i386.rpm' which patches the rpc.statd' bug. Meantime did somebody break in my linux box through 'RPC~~~' and syslog left messages like this? And what is 'portmap'? Please help me. (Reply in KOREAN Lang.) luke--김윤석
