초보시라면 조금 어렵겠지만 제가 아는 것만 적어 보겠습니다  물론 다운 받으신 드라이버가 그 사운드 카드에 적합한 것인지  는 본인이 확신하고 있겠지요?  먼저, 아래 디렉토리는 레드햇7.2에서  /usr/src/linux-2.4/drivers/sound/  입니다.  이건 배포판에서 커널 소스를 설치하셨다면 있을 겁니다.  혹시 빠뜨리셨다면 두번째 시디에서 kernel-source-로 시작하는  화일을 설치하면 됩니다.  (물론 현재 root계정으로 X-window의 터미널 상에서 이 모든   작업을 수행해야 합니다. )    rpm -Uvh 화일이름    그런다음  위의 폴더에 다운 받으신 압축 파일에서 나온 화일들을  풀어줍니다. 물론 아래에 써 있는 것처럼  그 디렉토리에 있는 Config.in과 Makefile을 임시 장소에  보관해 두는 것도 좋습니다.  그리고, 다시 /usr/src/linux-2.4 디렉토리로 옵니다  여기에서 make xconfig를 실행합니다  이건 그래픽으로 커널 설정하는 겁니다  그럼, 창이 하나 X상에 뜰 것입니다. 여러 메뉴들이 잔뜩  있는데 오른쪽에 보면 sound가 있습니다. 그걸 클릭하고  들어가세요.  그럼 또 창이 하나 뜹니다.  맨 처음 sound card support가 뜨는데 여기서 y,m,n 세 가지  선택에서 가운데 m을 선택합니다. (클릭)  이건 모듈로 사운드를 띄우겠다는 설정입니다.  그리고, 바로 밑에 c-media PCI라고 있을 겁니다. 여기도  가운데 m 선택.. 그리고, 맨 밑에 버튼 중에 main menu를  클릭합니다. 그럼, 다시 아까 처음 윈도로 와서 오른쪽 밑에  save and exit를 클릭합니다.  여기서 다시 터미널로 돌아와서 make modules를 실행해서  모듈 컴파일을 합니다.  다음 make modules_install을 해서 인스톨을 합니다.  depmod -a  modprobe cmpci  를 각각 실행합니다.  그리고, cd /etc 합니다. 여기서 에디터 아무거나 해서  modules.conf를 엽니다  여기에서  이미 몇 가지가 써 있다면 가장 밑에 줄에  alias sound cmpci  (혹은 안될 경우 alias sound-slot-0 cmpci)  그 밑에 파라미터들은  options cmpci spdif_loop=1 four_ch=1 rear_out=1 joystich=1  뭐, 이런 식으로 써 주면 될 것 같습니다.  먼저 설명하신 분의 설명도 참고해서 반드시 성공하세요.  그럼.                      : /usr/src/linux/driver/sound 폴더에 압축을 풀어서 하라는 것 같은데 : 그 위치엔 그런 폴더 자체가 없습니다. : 레드햇 버전이 달라서 그런지는 모르겠지만... : : --------------------------Readme 파일 내용------------------------------------------- : : Audio driver for CM8338/CM8738 chips by Chen-Li Tien : : : HARDWARE SUPPORTED : ================================================================================ : C-Media CMI8338 : C-Media CMI8738 : On-board C-Media chips : : : WHAT'S NEW : ================================================================================ : :  1.
