cmedia사운드를 사용하고 있습니다....
드라이버를 깔려는데...메뉴얼안에는 
1. Backup the Config.in and Makefile in the sound driver directory
(/usr/src/linux/driver/sound)
라고 나와있지만...실제 /usr/src/redhat/....의 디렉토리만 존재하기에 
메이크파일을 위의 디렉토리 (/usr/src/linux/driver/sound)를 만든후 드라이버
파일을 풀로나서....
/usr/src/linux로 이동후에( Change directory to /usr/src/linux)
make config or make menuconfig를 쳤습니다...(4. Config cm8338 driver by &#039;make menuconfig&#039;, &#039;make config&#039; or &#039;make xconfig&#039; command.)
쳤더니 나오는 메세지는 make 목표 menuconfig(config)를 만들규칙이 없음...이라구 나오네염
도와주세여....

1. Backup the Config.in and Makefile in the sound driver directory
(/usr/src/linux/driver/sound).
-- 전에 있는 &#039;Config.in&#039; 과 &#039;Makefile&#039;를 백업합니다.
 2. Extract the tar file by &#039;tar xvzf cmpci-xx.tar.gz&#039; in the above directory.
--- <루트권한으로 이 디렉토리에다 모든 파일을 압축을 풉니다. 물론 덮어쓰기합니
다.>
 3. Change directory to /usr/src/linux
-- 위 디렉토리로 이동합니다. ---
 4. Config cm8338 driver by &#039;make menuconfig&#039;, &#039;make config&#039; or
&#039;make xconfig&#039; command.
-- &#039;make menuconfig&#039; 를 치면 메뉴가 뜨는데 아래부분에 가면 Sound 부분이 있는데 그 곳 여러 사운드카드 종류가 있는데 Cmi 칩셋부분에 [m] 체크를 합니다. --< 중요 >
>-- 그리고 나가시 전에 반드시 저장을 합니다.
 5. Please select Sound Card (CONFIG_SOUND=m) support and CMPCI driver (CONFIG_SO
UND_CMPCI=m) as modules. Resident mode not tested.
For driver option, please refer &#039;DRIVER PARAMETER&#039;
 6. Compile the kernel if necessary.
--< 필요하시면 커널 컴파일 시키는데 꼭 그럴 필요없습니다.
 7. Compile the modules by &#039;make modules&#039;.
--- &#039;make modules&#039;를 쳐서 방금 사운드부분의 컴파일시킵니다. 시스템마다 틀리지만, 조금 시간이 걸립니다.
 8. Install the modules by &#039;make modules_install&#039;
--- 그리고 나서 &#039;make modules_install&#039;를 하면 설치리스트 나옵니다. 
여기까지 modules 인스톨입니다.
 INSTALL DRIVER

1. Before first time to run the driver, create module dependency by &#039;depmod -a&#039;
- 그대로 &#039;depmod -a&#039; 를 칩니다.
 2. To install the driver manually, enter &#039;modprobe cmpci&#039;.
- 그대로 &#039;modprobe cmpci&#039; 를 칩니다.
 3. Driver installation for various distributions:
RedHat 6.0 and S.u.S.E. 6.1
Add following command in /etc/con f.modules:
alias char-major-14 cmpci
-- /etc.conf.modules 의 편집하여 &#039;alias char-major-14 cmpci&#039; 라고 그대로 칩니다.
그리고 나서 재부팅하여 Xwindows에 가셔서 XMS를 실행해보십시오.
