Compiling Gtk+, Glib on Cygwin/xfree86 and compile applications using gtk+ and glib Inho (chajath@hanmail.net) get the latest sources of glib, gtk+ and gnotepad+ unzip into /usr/src under your cygwin directory. run cygwin and compile them as if you were using Linux. If you have difficulties during compiling glib, try this trick : glib-1.2.10gstrfuncs.c in line 704 substitute #ifdef HAVE_STRSIGNAL extern char *strsignal (int sig); return strsignal (signum);// #elsif NO_SYS_SIGLIST with //#ifdef HAVE_STRSIGNAL // extern char *strsignal (int sig); // return strsignal (signum); #ifdef NO_SYS_SIGLIST If you see "Can't access libX11.dll" or something like that during configuring gnotepad+, try this : in Command box. cd c:cygwin set PATH=%PATH%;c:cygwinusrx11r6in cygwin If you have a message like "more than two main() functions..." try this trick : in gnotepad+/src/Makefile substitute GTK_LIBS = -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lgtk -lgdk -lgmodule -lglib -lXext -lX11 -lm with GTK_LIBS = -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lgtk -lgdk -lgmodule -lglib -lXext -lX11 #-lm finally, if you see a message saying "values.h is missing", then try : touch /usr/include/values.h chmod 644 /usr/include/values.h --- run xwindow and run "gnp" and see gnotepad+ running! soon we will see gnome-panel running :-) <img src="http://lightning.prohosting.com/~l2i1h5/gtkonxfree1.jpg"> -- -- inho(chajath@hanmail.net). copy this document freely but quote me please :-)!
