1. imap, ipop3 프로그램이 포함된 imap 패키지가 설치되었는지 확인
 [root@embryo xinetd.d]# rpm -qa | grep imap
imap-2000-9
   1.1 설치가 되어있지 않으면 패키지를 받아서 설치.
 [root@embryo /root]# rpm -ivh imap-2000-9.i386.rpm

   2. /etc/hosts.deny 파일 및 /etc/hosts.allow 파일 수정

#               by the &#039;/usr/sbin/tcpd&#039; server.

   3. /etc/xinetd.d/ipop3 파일내용중 disable= yes 를 no로 수정.

#              or fetchmail.

   4. /etc/rc.d/init.d/ipchains stop , /etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables stop,
혹은 적절한 firewall 셋팅
 레드햇 7.1 에는 기본적인 firewall 셋팅이 되어 있습니다.
firewall 셋팅을 없애는것은 위의 과정처럼 쉽지만 해킹사고의
원인이 될수 있다는 사실을 잊지 마십시요.
   5. /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd 를 재시동 합니다.
 [root@embryo /root]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart
Stopping xinetd:                                           [  OK  ]
Starting xinetd:                                           [  OK  ]
   6. 접속이 잘되는지 점검합니다.
 [root@embryo /root]# telnet localhost 110
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.localdomain.
Escape character is &#039;^]&#039;.
+OK POP3 localhost.localdomain v2000.69rh server ready
 quit
