with alsa ver. 0.5.10 my linux's kernel is 2.2.17 my sndcard is als4000(pci) this is what I was doing yesterday in my PC ----driver------ [root@localhost /alsa-driver-0.5.10]# ./cofigure : : [root@localhost /alsa-driver-0.5.10]# make install : : warnning <- I heard this is normal ============== [root@localhost /alsa-driver-0.5.10]# ./snddevices <-well done -----lib--------- [root@localhost /alsa-lib-0.5.10]# ./cofigure : : [root@localhost /alsa-lib-0.5.10]# make install : : <- well done -----utils--------- [root@localhost /alsa-utils-0.5.10]# ./cofigure : : [root@localhost /alsa-utils-0.5.10]# make install : : <- well done [root@localhost /alsa-driver/modules]#ls : als4000.o <= it is exist!!! : [root@localhost /alsa-driver/modules]#modprobe snd-als4000 [root@localhost /alsa-driver/modules]#modprobe snd-pcm-oss [root@localhost /alsa-driver/modules]#lsmod : XXXXXXXXXXX (autoclean) snd-als4000 (unused) <- <how can I make it "autoclean" snd-pcm-oss (unused) <- or "used"?> YYYYYYYYY (autoclean) : with xmms or midi-player, they expresses "no outputdevices" message. anyway, have a nice day!
