mysql 소스화일중 컴파인된부분과 그렇지 않은것이 있는걸로 알고있습니다.
 소스 컴파일 된 mysql(버전).tar.gz화일은
tar xvfpz mysql(버전).tar.gz:
mv mysql(버전) /usr/local/mysql
cd /usr/local/mysql
./script/table ~~ ( 요기부분 정확지 않습니다. )
./bin/safe_mysqld &
./bin/mysqladmin -u root -p password 'new-password'
  이런식으로 하시면 되고
컴파일이 안된거라면
 tar xvfpz mysql(버전).tar.gz:
mv mysql(버전) /usr/local/mysql
cd /usr/local/mysql
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql --with-charset=euc_kr
make
make install
./bin/safe_mysqld &
./bin/mysqladmin -u root -p password 'new-password'
 이런식으로 하시는것이 날듯합니다.
참고로 중간에 useradd mysql을 해주셔야하며
mysql 란 유저권한을 mysql폴터 밑으로 다 걸어주시면 이상없을듯하네요.
